WALES – April 2019

Cardiff

The people of Wales were always smiling, very friendly and happy! Wales is a proudly bilingual country with 23% of the population speaking ‘Cymraeg’, or Welsh. This 4000 years old language was heard and seen everywhere and sounded very unique. We could decipher nothing!

Cardiff Castle

The red dragon is often seen as symbolizing all things Welsh, and is used in any public and private places.

We were excited to discover Cardiff is home to the oldest record store in the world! Established in 1894, Henry Spiller founded Spillers Records. They not only sell records but are the main location to buy tickets for alternative concerts. It was a busy and well run store!

Some famous people were born in Cardiff; including Roald Dahl, Ken Follett, and Shirley Bassey!

The food was great in Wales!

We would have loved to have had more time to explore the coast of Wales and the rest of this beautiful country. And find Tom Jones 🙂

I can’t help talking about gin – it’s all around me! Chase Pink Grapefruit is the best – smells divine.
